TIPS & HINTSRegardless of what type of equipment you are using here are a few simple tips to achieve fast throughput when binding with double loop ring wire: 1. Ensure the dies in your punch are sharp and clean. To achieve quality punching you need to regularly sharpen the dies in your punch and ensure they are free of paper dust and debris. A clean perforation will allow the wire to be inserted cleanly and quickly when binding. 2. Punch smaller amounts of paper. Have the operator pick smaller amounts of paper to feed and punch than that specified by the equipment. This will allow the operator to feed and punch them faster, increasing the number of pages punched per hour. 3. Organise the workspace around your machine. A disorganised workspace hampers efficiency and slows down the workflow. Make sure the punched books are stacked and separated beside the binding machine so that the operator can easily pick up each one and load it into the binding area. Also, ensure there is a space to stack the finished books at the other side of the machine. This will allow the operator to use a convenient left to right movement for the whole process. 4. Remember to turn the back cover. Before wire binding turn the back cover over to the front. This will hide the join of the wire. Then just return the back cover to its normal position after closing and the wire join is hidden from view inside the back cover.
